Figs. 10 and 10a. Bon Bon spoon in the Forget Me Not pattern by Tiffany & Co., circa 1900. Inscribed in a vertical format along its lower stem is the slightly raised “FOR / GET / ME / NOT.” Stamped on the stem reverse with “TIFFANY & CO. / T / STERLING,” engraved on the front with “EM,” length 3/4 inches.

Fig. 11. Melon fork in a custom pattern by Jean Granvigne of Paris, circa 188 . Parcel-gilt 0.9 0 silver with a mother-of-pearl handle. The pierced cipher consists of an intertwined “R” and “S.” Stamped on front of stem with “J” and “G” separated by a small grapevine, all within a horizontal lozenge. Also stamped with the post-1838 French quality mark for 0.9 0 silver, consisting of a “(Minerva?s head)” and “1” within an octagon. Length 8 1/4 inches. Photo courtesy of M. S. Individual fish fork and knife in Muster No. 2000 (pattern no. 2000), designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich, and produced from blanks made by Clarfeld & Springmeyer, Hemer, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, and finished by Ludwig Zeich and Company, Hamburg. Electroplated nickel silver. The decoration on the front of the handle incorporates a stylized “JO” (the monogram of the designer) meant to be viewed with the pieces held horizontally. Both pieces stamped on the stem reverse with “Z. & Co.” (for the finisher) and with “90” (a mark denoting high-quality silverplating, specifically, deposition of 90 grams of silver per dozen large-size forks or spoons). Lengths: fork, 7 1/8 inches, knife, 9 inches.
