International artist makes only North Carolina appearance at Replacements Ltd.

GREENSBORO, N.C., September 22, 2006 – From colorful floral gardens to elegant yuletide designs, internationally known artist Anwyl Cooper-Willis has built on classic tradition yet brought a contemporary twist to one of the most recognized pottery companies in the world, Portmeirion Potteries, Ltd. This significant force in the industry is making her only North Carolina appearance Saturday, September 30, at Replacements, Ltd.

As Design and Retail Director for British-based Portmeirion, Cooper-Willis took a bold step by creating a more modern flair for both ceramic and glass patterns.  She is the daughter of Susan-Williams-Ellis, founder of Portmeirion Potteries, and the granddaughter of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis who built the romantic holiday village of Portmeirion in North Wales.

Cooper-Willis plans to meet customers and sign Portmeirion pieces from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 30.  Replacements, Ltd. is located at 1089 Knox Road, McLeansville, NC.
