Replacements, Ltd.’s Page and Frederiksen receive national leadership award
GREENSBORO, N.C., August 17, 2007 – Replacements, Ltd. congratulates Founder, Chairman and CEO Bob Page and Senior Vice President for Product Services Dale Frederiksen on receiving The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute’s second annual Lewis-Underwood Award. The award was presented at the Triad Business and Professional Guild meeting last night.
The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute, which works in tandem with The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, established this award to recognize individuals striving to create social change and responsibility by supporting their local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) organizations. “I think Bob and Dale embody the spirit of generosity because they’re two people who give of themselves solely because it is the right thing to do,” said Jason Mida, director of the Victory Cabinet at the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Leadership Institute. “They’ve given financial support and strength to organizations both in North Carolina and across the country while asking for nothing in return except that these organizations carry forward with their mission. Bob and Dale have created a legacy of generosity through their giving and support.”
“We are so honored to receive this award,” said Bob Page and Dale Frederiksen. “We believe so strongly that those of us in a position to speak out on behalf of gay rights should do so for those who, for one reason or another, aren’t able to be as vocal or active in working to establish equality for everyone in the LGBT community.”
The Lewis-Underwood award includes a $10,000 check for the winners to designate to the non-profit organization of their choice. Page and Frederiksen directed these funds go to Equality NC Foundation.
“The board and staff of Equality NC Foundation are extremely proud and excited to accept this generous gift from The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute in honor of Bob Page and Dale Frederiksen,” said Ian Palmquist, Executive Director for Equality NC Foundation. “Bob and Dale and their family at Replacements have supported our work for many years and continue to inspire us in our advocacy and education efforts on behalf of the LGBT community in North Carolina. Our continuing partnership with Replacements means the world to us.”
Bob Page and Dale Frederiksen have been partners for 18 years and live in Greensboro with their twin sons, Owen and Ryan. The couple have been tireless advocates on behalf of LGBT equality and those living with HIV and AIDS and dedicated champions in promoting workplace diversity and opportunity.
