Replacements, Ltd. encourages children to dream through 16th annual Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day
GREENSBORO, N.C., April 17, 2008 – Replacements, Ltd. is gearing up to welcome a special workforce as part of
Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day. The company is inviting its employees to bring their children to work as part of a nationwide event set for Thursday, April 24, 2008.
Children will not only learn more about the company, but will take part in a day full of activities aimed at helping them connect with their own dreams, talents and aspirations. Understanding the value of this day to both employees and children, members of Replacements’ senior leadership team have volunteered to help create a unique learning experience. Organizers are planning exercises centered on how diversity, cohesiveness and effectively utilizing different strengths come together to create a productive work environment.
“As a family friendly company we want to take advantage of this opportunity to celebrate our employees and their children,” says Jeanine Falcon, Replacements’ vice-president of human resources. “We want to create a memorable learning experience that encourages our daughters and sons to dream about their futures and see a world where diversity takes on many meanings. We also want to help them to see and know that their possibilities are endless; and in the words of Will Rogers, ‘If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.’”
Replacements’ activities tie into the national program sponsored by the Ms. Foundation for Women. The foundation started the event 16 years ago as a way to connect what children learn at school with the working world. This year’s theme is
for a Better World. 2008 marks the seventh year Replacements has participated in the
Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day. Media interested in covering this year’s events should contact public relations manager Lisa Conklin at (800) 737-5223 ext. 2552 or
