Replacements, Ltd. Kicks Off Construction on Habitat for Humanity House

Today marks company’s 30th Anniversary

GREENSBORO, N.C., March 17, 2011 – Replacements, Ltd. is celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary today by kicking off construction on a Habitat for Humanity house. Replacements’ volunteer crew will gather just after sunrise to start framing the new home, with an official celebration event set for 11 a.m.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” says Founder and CEO Bob Page. “Habitat for Humanity reminds us all that when we can lend a hand, we should. When I think about our last 30 years, years when we worked hard to build something together, the idea of joining a family as they build their home just feels right. We are so excited, because we know this is such a meaningful time for the Siu/Rmah family, as well as for our own.”

Page started Replacements in the attic of his home with one part-time assistant in 1981. Three decades later, the company has grown into the world’s largest retailer of old and new china, crystal, silver and collectibles with more than 10 million customers worldwide. While Replacements long ago outgrew Page’s home, the company hasn’t forgotten its roots. Replacements continues to be guided by the values Page learned growing up on his family’s small tobacco farm, in particular: treating others with respect and sharing with your neighbors.

Page will join the partner family for the brief kickoff event at the home site, located at 1608 Sunrise Valley Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27405. Replacements’ entire staff is coming together for the three-month project.
