With their bright colors and whimsical designs, these ornament sets by
Merck Family’s are thoughtful wedding presents! This month, we feature two fantastic ornament sets in the
Merck Family’s Old World Christmas series. The first is a set of 12 “Bride’s Tree Collection” ornaments. This set comprises 12 unique ornaments in a lovely gift box; each ornament is a traditional symbol of virtue or good fortune, meant to ensure a happy life for the new couple.
Next, is a 6-piece “Wedding Collection” ornament set that includes bride and groom ornaments, along with a house, wedding bells, a bridal bouquet, and a heart with two intertwined wedding rings, all in a decorative box. These are incredible values for such charming ornament sets!
These ornaments are produced using a technique in which molten glass is carefully blown inside an intricately designed and sculpted mold. The ornaments exhibit the light weight and airiness associated with hand-blown pieces, while the mold provides a form whereby the ornaments can hold exceptional detail and brilliant facets. Original hand-blowing techniques are very old, with evidence of production being found in Syria and Palestine that dates from the middle of the first century B.C. Mold-blown glass was not developed until the middle of the first century A.D. Over time molds became even more elaborate (sometimes multi-piece molds are used), so that we have the uniquely colorful and sparkling pieces we enjoy today.
These glittering, beautifully colored ornaments will bring joy in any season. Treat yourself, or someone you love, to items from our Merck Family's selection! Order your
