Our featured flatware this issue is
Narragansett Gold by
Gorham Silver, a high-quality, durable, glossy finish stainless steel pattern. The exquisitely clean design makes the gold highlights even more distinctive. Named for the famous sailing waters of New England’s Narragansett Bay, the pattern was produced by another New England legend, Gorham Silver. You can imagine this classy design on the sleekest of yachts, and it can be had this month at very compelling prices! The 45-piece set includes 8 dinner knives, 8 forks, 8 salad forks, 8 teaspoons, 8 oval soup spoons, and 5 serving pieces, including 1 tablespoon, 1 pierced tablespoon, 1 sugar spoon, 1 medium (8 1/2-inch) cold meat serving fork, and 1 flat-handled master butter knife.
Jabez Gorham founded Gorham Silver in 1831 in a shop on Steeple Street in Providence, RI. Born to a family of eight, Jabez was apprenticed to silver patriarch Nehemiah Dodge at a very early age. Dodge is recognized as one of the founders of the silver and jewelry crafts industry in 18th century New England. After his apprenticeship, Gorham formed his own business and quickly established a name for himself, creating distinctive hand-crafted silver pieces. The company’s reputation for excellence endures today. Gorham continues to prosper, having expanded into other dinnerware products, including china as well as crystal.
