His Majesty by Johnson Brothers
67-Piece Set
When Benjamin Franklin in a letter to his daughter recommended the turkey over the bald eagle as America’s national bird, he certainly never envisioned a gobbler being elevated to the status of royalty! But tradition has made the turkey king of the barnyard and lord without peer on our Thanksgiving holiday tables. And what better way to celebrate that tradition than with a bountiful table set with
His Majesty china by
Johnson Brothers, your turkey and fixings cooked to perfection, and your family and friends around you!
While supplies last, we’re offering a magnificent 67-piece set of Johnson Brothers
His Majesty that includes 12 cups and saucers, 12 dinner plates, 12 salad plates, 12 square salad plates, along with serving pieces, 1 creamer, 1 sugar bowl with lid, 1 oval vegetable bowl (9 1/4 inches), 1 gravy boat with underplate, and 1 relish dish
. Be sure to order one of these memory-making sets while they are available!
His Majesty is high-quality, rimmed, scallop-shaped earthenware, with a regal tom turkey spreading his plumage in the center of the plate, and an embossed rim strewn with tempting nuts, fruits, berries, and vegetables, with a thin, painted cable design on the outside rim. The colors of the pattern are lush earth tones, perfect for your holiday table.
Produced between 1955 and 1983, pieces from this pattern are highly sought-after. Designed from an original engraving, the tom turkey on
His Majesty made his first appearance as an accent plate in the Johnson Brothers tremendously popular
Friendly Village multi-motif pattern. Demand for the accent plate was so great that Johnson Brothers introduced
His Majesty just two years after
Friendly Village was released. As you might expect, these patterns complement each other beautifully on the table. Be sure to visit our web site for a complete listing of the pieces available in both patterns.
As with the tradition of Thanksgiving turkey, the tradition of Johnson Brothers is rich, as well. In 1882 brothers Alfred, Fredrick, and Henry Johnson, grandsons of the famous Meakin dinnerware family, purchased in a bankruptcy sale the Charles Street Works at Stoke-on-Trent in the legendary china-producing region of Staffordshire, England. Building a reputation on basic whiteware known as "semi-porcelain," the Johnson Brothers company created dinnerware that had the delicate characteristics of fine china, but the durability of ironstone. In 1900 a fourth brother, Robert, relocated to the United States and established a presence for the company in North America. Customers on both sides of the Atlantic have enjoyed the quality and durability of Johnson Brothers china for more than a century.
Be sure to take advantage of this special offer, and order your 67-piece set of Johnson Brothers
His Majesty for this holiday season. You can mix and match with your
Friendly Village collection, or start a new set of each! It’s fun, and your table will be gorgeous.
