Featured Pet (and Pet Owner!)
This month we feature two pets (and one owner)! “Chi-Chi” is a 6-year old miniature Dachshund and “Puffy” is a 3-year old long-haired Chihuahua. Both of these great dogs belong to John Griffith, a member of our Executive Assistant team who has been with Replacements, Ltd. for eight years.
John has loved animals his whole life. He grew up surrounded by a variety of pets including peacocks, chickens, snakes, dogs, cats, birds, pigs, horses, and a sugar glider (a small possum). Because of this, Chi-Chi and Puffy also have two brothers. Currently, John has an 18-year old Yorkie named “Einstein” as well as an 8-year old long-haired Himalayan cat named “Kitty.” John says that Einstein is in retirement and prefers not to come to work. Kitty, on the other hand, acts very much like a dog. He loves to lick your face and enjoys puppy snacks and treats. People pick on John for not coming up with a more imaginative name for Kitty. John says that “Kitty” is short for “Countess a Purella Meow von Kittystein.”
Chi-Chi was actually the runt of a litter of two miniature Dachshunds. Toby and Trudy, Chi-Chi’s parents, belong to our founder and president Bob Page, and are here at Replacements, Ltd. every day. John decided to name Chi-Chi after a spicy Latin sausage called chorizo. Chi-Chi is a very playful Dachshund and one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.
Puffy is very attached to John and needs to be wherever John is. He is quite protective and makes a great watch dog. According to John, whenever Puffy gets upset or angry, the hair on his back stands up nearly two inches, and he takes on the look of a Gremlin.
John said that the greatest thing about bringing his dogs to work is that he knows they are safe. “It’s comforting to know my dogs are with me and not at home unprotected.” And we are pretty sure that Chi-Chi and Puffy would say "It's comforting to know that John is with us and is not at work unprotected"!
