This month, we feature “Tweety” (aka “Sweety”), a very mild-tempered, sweet, and polite mixed breed dog.  Tweety belongs to Tina Dalton, a member of our Purchasing Department staff.  Almost every day for two years, Tina has brought Tweety to work, and they’ve both loved every day of it.

Although Tina is unsure of Tweety’s exact pedigree, she believes that Tweety must have been the runt of the litter. She was adopted during a visit to an animal shelter five years ago. Before coming to work for Replacements, Ltd. Tweety served as a guard dog at a mechanic’s garage. However, the owner had to let her go. Tina says that she does not believe that it was Tweety’s calling to be a guard dog because of her gentle temperament. Tweety has three dog roommates and one cat roommate. Tina says that her animals are truly her best friends. “They are just like children, you have to love and care for them.”

Tweety and Tina participate in the annual Greensboro Gobbler 5K & 1.5 Mile Dog Jog. This event is held each year on Thanksgiving Day. Tina advised that Tweety has helped get her back into an exercise routine. Tina often refers to Tweety as her training buddy. You can see Tina and Tweety exercising during Tina’s lunches and breaks on most days. Eventually, they hope to be prepared for a marathon!

When asked what is the most fun part about having her dog at work, Tina had this to say, “I appreciate being able to bring my dog to work. It is so much fun seeing customer’s reactions when they notice a dog at your desk. It is especially entertaining for children who visit the company.”
