This month, we offer an especially fun Featured Pet (and Pet Owner) story. “Darci” is a beautiful border collie owned by our Jannette Jones (“JJ” as she likes to be called), who has been with Replacements, Ltd. since 1999 and is a member of our Centralized Pulling team. Often, you will see JJ and Darci around and about Replacements, Ltd. Darci is a lovable dog and brings joy to all those she comes in contact with. JJ works on a team that is in charge of pulling pieces and moving inventory in our massive showroom and warehouse facilities. At any given time, you might see JJ in any part of this area called “the stacks,” and Darci will not be far away!
In 2003, JJ and her longtime roommate Teresa lost “Toby,” their canine companion of 16 years. JJ said that she didn’t think she would ever find another dog that could take the place of Toby. After several years, Teresa began talking JJ into looking for another dog. At first, JJ was skeptical of the idea, but they searched several rescue sites before finding the “East Tennessee Border Collie Rescue.” Teresa talked JJ into adopting a dog from the rescue. JJ first met Darci when she went on a road trip to pick her up. Even after putting Darci in the car, JJ still wondered if she was ready for another dog. During the ride home, JJ started singing out loud to a song on the radio. JJ’s singing got Darci so excited that she jumped to the front seat and began licking JJ. It was at that moment that JJ knew Darci was the dog for her!
JJ has had Darci for a year now and she loves her playful nature and her ability to make others happy. Darci’s favorite activities include chasing balls and squirrels. When at work at Replacements, Ltd., she loves visiting the showroom and greeting customers. When asked what she liked most about Replacements pet-friendly policy, JJ had this to say, “I love seeing all the pets around Replacements, Ltd. and I love to watch Darci interact with them. Work can be stressful at times and having my best friend around does a lot to relieve that stress.”
