This month, we offer an especially fun Featured Pet (and Pet Owner) story. Pam Kennedy has been with Replacements, Ltd. since 1998 and is a member of our Manufacturer Inventory team.  Her miniature dachshunds, “Bogey,” “Patches,” “Lizzie,” and “Luke” are well known around and about Replacements, Ltd., not only for the joy they bring those they come in contact with,  but for the way in which Pam and her husband, Roger, acquired  them.  The story is even more uplifting, and is a testimony to the Replacements spirit of family.

Several years ago, on Christmas Eve, Pam lost a dear family member, a 15-year-old miniature dachshund named “Oliver.”  Pam was understandably heartbroken at the loss of her dog.  The following January, Bob Page, our founder and CEO, came to Pam and said, “I hear that you are looking for a puppy.” Thus Pam’s beloved Bogey came to be with her, from a litter of Bob’s own two dogs, Toby and Trudy.  (In fact, over the years, several Replacements, Ltd. employees have acquired puppies from Toby and Trudy’s litters.)  Pam developed a special affinity for Bogey and decided to get another miniature dachshund in early 2005. She and her husband found a local breeder and brought Patches into their home.

In March of this year, Pam bred Bogey and Patches and now has two new dachshund additions to her family, Lizzie and Luke.  These playful and very lovable puppies are the only offspring from any of Toby and Trudy's litters.  Pam is happy to say that another generation of Replacement's dachshunds lives on! When asked what she liked most about Replacements pet-friendly policy, Pam had this to say, “I love seeing all the pets around Replacements, Ltd., especially Toby, Trudy, and their offspring. Although some of them are getting a little gray around the snout and round in the middle (aren’t we all), they are still a very special part of Replacements.  Bob’s thoughtfulness and generosity during my time of need is another example of how Replacements “Replaces the irreplaceable.”
