This month, we feature “Cooper” and “Zeus.” These dogs belong to Brad Newton, a member of our Marketing Administration Team who has been with Replacements since December of 1996. When Brad came to work for Replacements, Ltd. he had two dogs, a black lab named “Tate” and a Golden Retriever named “Winston.” Brad and his partner lost Tate to bone cancer. The loss was very sad. Some of Brad’s friends, wanting to cheer him up, presented him with a beautiful golden retriever, Cooper. Shortly after getting Cooper, Brad lost his oldest retriever, Winston, to cancer. Brad decided that Cooper should not be without a playmate and in turn picked up a black lab puppy, Zeus. Cooper is now 7 years old and Zeus is 5 years old.
Zeus and Cooper are best friends. Zeus loves playing ball. Cooper loves to swim. Both dogs make frequent trips to Brad’s parent’s lake house and they also look forward to their annual week at the beach where they can run without their leashes and play in the sand and the surf. They also share the house with two female cats, “Figaro” and “Stella.”
When asked what he likes most about Replacements pet-friendly policy, Brad had this to say, “I’m an animal lover, so working for a pet-friendly company is a great benefit. I love being able to take an occasional break to get some unconditional love from a member of ‘the tail-waggers club.’ Also, the compassion, support, and understanding I received after the loss of Tate and Winston was absolutely priceless. I was allowed permission to express my emotions without any judgment and that in turn allowed me to focus on my work.”
