Featured Pet (and Pet Owner!)
Our featured pet for this Newsletter may be pint-sized, but when it comes to personality, he’s a full quart! Chihuahua “Tanner” has the “biggest personality for such a little body I have ever seen,” says owner, Marsha Keily, who works in our Internet Services department, and has been employed by Replacements, Ltd. since 1992.
Tanner is about a year old, according to Marsha. Since he’s a rescue dog, she isn’t absolutely certain of his age. He previously was owned by her neighbor. When Marsha babysat Tanner while her neighbor was in the hospital, “Tanner fell in love with me, ‘Max,’ my miniature Daschund, and ‘Oreo,’ my big cat,” Marsha says. She told her neighbor when she returned that if Tanner ever needed a home, she would love to have him. In time her neighbor moved out to live with her parents. Unfortunately, her neighbor’s father didn’t get along with Tanner, so she brought the young dog to Marsha. “He fits right in with both my human and my animal families,” Marsha says.
Tanner comes into Replacements, Ltd. every day with buddy Max and owner Marsha. Cat Oreo stays home to hold the fort down. Tanner has several human girlfriends - each morning when they arrive at work he picks up and shows them his “chewy,” his chew toy, making strange doggy noises until they acknowledge him. Tanner also has an unusual zigzag hairdo that starts half-way down his back and runs to the base of his tail.
When Tanner, Max, and Marsha get home at night after work, Oreo is patiently waiting to play with his “brothers.” Tanner and Max immediately tackle the cat, who is bigger than the two dogs put together!
“I think the pet-friendly policy at Replacements is great!” says Marsha. “I get to have the drive into work and back home with my boys and they love to go bye-bye! It’s really nice to be able to love and talk to them throughout the day. I also have the opportunity to take them for walks during breaks. I feel that Replacements, Ltd. is the best place around to work. I look forward to being here every day and I know Tanner and Max do, too!”
