“Edro Turner Wheeler” is a six-month-old shih tzu owned by Cindy Wheeler, an executive assistant at Replacements, Ltd, and her husband. After losing two beloved pets within the span of three months, Cindy and her husband thought it would be quite some time before they were ready to have any more pets. It wasn’t long, however, before they changed their minds. “Soon after losing the last pet in August 2010, my husband and I decided we couldn’t stand the silence in our home any longer,” Cindy said. “So we started looking for a new friend, and that’s when we found Edro.”
Although she’s worked at Replacements, Ltd. for over eleven years, it wasn’t until Edro came into Cindy’s life that she considered taking advantage of Replacements’ pet-friendly policy. “Edro was so small at only six weeks old that I didn’t want to leave him at home by himself all day in a kennel,” Cindy said. “That’s when I decided to bring him to work with me!”
Cindy says Edro really looks forward to coming to work, where he has plenty of friends throughout the building. “He starts his day with two treats when he arrives, and enjoys playing with the other staff members and their pets on a daily basis,” Cindy said. Edro also enjoys spending time with his cousins, “Charlee” and “Mitzi,” who come to work with Cindy’s brother, Steve (a member of Replacements’ curating department). “After a day’s work, Edro is usually tired and ready to go home to spend time with our three cats and other dog, ‘Branson,’” Cindy said.
When asked about working at Replacements, Cindy said, “I am so proud to be a part of Replacements, Ltd. for many reasons - not only do we receive the benefit of a pet-friendly environment, but Replacements is a company that reaches out to the community and gives back in many ways.”
