“Daisy,” a three-month-old pit bull, shares a home with Marlene Whitesell, a digital photographer in the Replacements, Ltd. imaging department, and Chris Whitesell, a member of the Replacements warehousing staff. Marlene and Chris adopted Daisy from Carolina Care Bullies (a pit bull rescue organization). It was Chris who first saw Daisy with her foster parent, who also works at Replacements. “Chris could not resist her when he saw Daisy,” Marlene said. “We both talked about it, and thought she would make a great addition to the family.”
According to Marlene, the only tricks Daisy have learned so far are to sit and “shake hands,” although occasionally she will help redecorate the house by moving a plant or two around! Daisy also enjoys playing with Marlene’s other pit bull, “Gangster,” when she is not at work. “They love to play together,” Marlene said, “It’s amazing how gentle Gangster is with her when they play.” When she’s at work with Marlene, Daisy has her own daily routine: first, she makes the rounds spreading all her love to everyone in the imaging department, then she lays down for a nap.
Marlene said, “It is great to be able to bring her to work with us – it is so nice to be able to look down and see her. While I work, she spends her time sleeping and being my personal greeter. The little diva has to have everyone’s attention – at least when she’s awake. She certainly keeps my day eventful, but most of all helps keep my stress level down, especially when she gives me some kisses!”
When asked about working at Replacements and the pet-friendly policy here, Marlene said, “Replacements is a great place to work. The benefit of bringing your dog to work is an extra reason why people consider this to be THE place to work!”
