“Delilah Jones,” a bluetick hound mix, is the newest member of the family of Jennifer Terrell, a curator in the Replacements, Ltd. curating department. Delilah Jones, or “Lady D,” was found by Jennifer’s husband, who saw a posting at his work. “We had deliberated on whether to get another puppy after the loss of our german shepherd, ‘Sampson,’” Jennifer said. Jennifer and her husband also have two black labs, “Dean” and “Sal,” and they were not sure how they would handle having another dog around, much less a puppy. “We decided that we would ‘look’ at the puppies and if one took a liking to us, we would get one,” Jennifer said. “We both looked at the puppies and immediately fell in love with Delilah Jones. When my husband picked her up and she immediately started snuggling with him, I looked at him and said, we’re going to get a puppy, aren’t we? So down the road we went for her to meet her two big brothers, who really were not too sure what to make of her, but welcomed her with lots of love and kisses!”
At just seven weeks old, Delilah Jones became the youngest member of the Replacements research department, where she has become known as the “spotted princess.” Although she does spend some time sleeping during the day, she always greets her coworkers with a good morning kiss and hello. Delilah Jones often welcomes visitors as they walk through the call center, always willing to receive a pet or two and give out kisses in return. “You can clearly see she has come out of her shell,” Jennifer said.
During Delilah Jones’ free time, she enjoys playing out in the yard with her brothers. She is quite the gardener, growing green beans, tomatoes, and a variety of peppers. Delilah Jones is also a sports enthusiast, and particularly enjoys watching NFL football. “Her favorite team is the New York Jets, especially Mark Sanchez, because he is ‘dreamy!’” Jennifer said.
When asked about the pet-friendly policy at Replacements, Jennifer said, “I am very fortunate to work at Replacements, Ltd. The pet-friendly policy enables me to spend time with my ‘little spotted princess,’ which was especially helpful during her first couple of days with us - my husband and I had never had a puppy so young and needing so much attention.” Jennifer and her husband also wanted to make sure that Delilah Jones was socialized, not only with people, but with other dogs. Jennifer said, “Delilah Jones gets so excited when she knows she’s going to work, because she loves her all her aunts and uncles at Replacements. And knowing that she can make their day just a little brighter is a bonus as well!”
