“Aristotle” is an adorable kitten owned by Tamera Gethers, a member of Replacements Ltd.’s human resources department. Aristotle’s story begins in June 2011, when Replacements employees Jenn Barton and John Harris rescued a newborn kitten from their front lawn after he was almost hit by a lawnmower. The morning after his rescue, Jenn brought the kitten in to see if she could find a home for him. Tamera said, “I came to work and saw a crowd of people standing around Jenn. Yielding to my curiosity, I joined the crowd and saw the tiniest kitten I’d ever seen – he was precious!”
Tamera said she wanted Aristotle as soon as she saw him, but wasn’t sure if she was ready to take on the responsibility of raising a newborn kitten. “Then, as I was walking away, I hear his precious little cry – he stole my heart at that moment, and the rest is history!” Tamera said. Jenn said, “Aristotle is certainly a lucky boy to have been found seconds before the lawnmower crossed his path, but even luckier since Tamera opened her heart and home to him. He has brought joy to all of us that he visits here at Replacements, as we have watched him grow from smaller than the palm of my hand to a frisky little kitten.”
“When Aristotle arrived his eyes were still closed – he had to be bottle-fed, and he had a long road ahead of him towards survival,” Tamera said. But Tamera’s entire family pitched in to help take care of him, a process which included a feeding every two hours (including in the middle of the night), and litter box training. Today, Aristotle is full of energy, playful, and loving. Aristotle has made many new friends here at Replacements and enjoys coming to work. “He enjoys it so much that he’s even learned to walk on his leash!” Tamera said. “Aristotle has brought so much joy to my home. He is a quick learner, and has made the perfect addition to my small family.”
When asked what she likes best about the pet policy at Replacements, Tamera said, “What I most like is being able to visit all of the pets that come to work. I appreciate the policy even more now that I have Aristotle here with me! Many people have helped nurture him into a wonderful member of two families – both mine and Replacements’. Overall, Replacements, Ltd. is a great place to work!”
