This month, we feature “Samson” and “Delilah,” two playful chihuahua puppies who belong to Debbie Smith, an accounting specialist at Replacements, Ltd. On May 10, 2011, Debbie lost
“Pippin,” her fifteen-year-old yorkie. At that time Debbie and her partner decided that they would wait before bringing another dog into their home. Debbie said, “After only two months of coming home without the welcoming barks and licks of a best friend, we decided we needed a pet more than the pet needed us, and began the search that led us to two playful chihuahua puppies we named Samson and Delilah.”
Debbie said, “Although we miss Pippin tremendously, Samson and Delilah certainly bring joy and havoc into our home. At three months old, Samson had this walk like ‘I’m bad, I’m bad’ and Delilah had a way of laying her head in your lap and looking at you with those dark puppy eyes and long lashes, which said, ‘Love me.’ She is quite a seductress!” According to Debbie, her partner has given the two pups other choice names on occasion, when they team up to destroy an unsuspecting house plant, or choose a sock or boot as a new toy. “They are currently in puppy class to learn to control these urges,” Debbie said.
“What I like most about Replacements’ pet policy is having Samson and Delilah with me in the relaxed atmosphere that having animals around creates,” Debbie said. “Being able to meet and talk to my coworkers about their pets opens the door to meeting employees in other departments. It makes us a family rather than just a place to come to work.”
