Our Featured Pet this month is “Josie,” a lab and pit bull mix who lives with Miki Sato, an internet marketing analyst in the online marketing department at Replacements, Ltd. Josie shares her home with Miki and her boyfriend’s three other dogs: “Lili,” “Jake,” and “Jake.” Miki said, “Josie came to us from Red Dog Farm, a local animal rescue agency. She, her mom, and her four other brothers and sisters were discovered in a shed and surrendered for adoption. At the time, my boyfriend’s eight-year-old lab needed some company, and he visited one of Red Dog Farm’s adoption fairs. From the time he picked her up, there was really no other choice than to adopt her.”
Josie is very friendly and incredibly sweet toward other animals and people – according to Miki, Josie prides herself on being a 58-pound lap dog. Josie desperately wants to be around people – so much so that she once tried to chew her way through a bay window to get to Miki’s boyfriend while he was mowing the lawn! Josie can also be a bit sneaky. “When Lili gets mad at her, Josie will run away – but she comes back to throw punches when Lili is not looking!” Miki said.
Josie is very active, and her athletic feats include jumping a four-foot tall chain-link fence from a sitting position! Miki, who is a marathon runner, says Josie is also a great running companion. “My cocker spaniels must be thankful, because I don’t drag them running anymore! Josie can happily run miles and miles. Last year, she and I completed a five-mile race together, and we will try more dog-friendly races this year.”
When asked what she likes most about the Replacements, Ltd. pet-friendly policy, Miki said, “I think Replacements’ pet-friendly policy is the one of the best benefits here. I love seeing my co-workers’ pets. Having pets around – my co-workers’ or mine – helps bring my stress down. When I joined the company, I was not sure if I could take advantage of this policy, but I’ve already brought three of my dogs here! Josie enjoys coming to work with me and getting everyone’s attention.”
When asked how she feels about working at Replacements in general, Miki said, “Replacements, Ltd. has a very unique culture, and I enjoy being a part of the Replacements family. I’ve been here for only about four months, but I can see that the company is loyal to employees and vice versa. Replacements offers many great perks, and I’m grateful to be able to take advantage of those perks!”
