“Harley,” a three and a half-year-old pit bull, comes to Replacements, Ltd. with her owners: Maureen Taylor, a collectibles specialist, and Chris Amick, a puller in the centralized pulling department. Maureen said, “We got Harley from a close friend when she was just six months old. We saw in Harley's eyes how innocent and sweet she was, and knew that she was ours.”
At the time Maureen adopted Harley, her household consisted of just her and her two children (who were more than excited to bring Harley into their family!). About a year and a half ago, Chris came into their household as well, and, according to Maureen, he has been an amazing addition to the family. “His love for Harley was shown up front, and it was the same from her. He has trained her to do many things, like sitting, rolling over, and laying down.” Harley recently had a litter of puppies, and Maureen and Chris kept a girl they named “Midnight.” “Her colors are exactly like Harley's – a beautiful black coat with a white chest and some on her feet,” Maureen said.
“When Harley is excited, especially after a bath, she will run hysterically around the house at full speed, but with amazing accuracy!” Maureen said. “She loves to play fetch, loves to wrestle with Chris and Midnight, and loves cheese as a treat, as well as green beans.” Harley also loves to walk around Maureen’s neighborhood to “talk” to the other dogs. Maureen said, “Having Harley has given the kids and I a very special bond – we are so proud of her for demonstrating how pit bulls can be a loving breed.”
“Having the opportunity to bring Harley to work is such a great aspect of Replacements, as we do feel our pets are our children and hate always leaving them at home,” Maureen said. “When here, Harley eats up every bit of attention, and is very well behaved. There are always treats and love coming from every direction, and having her close is so nice.” When asked about working at Replacements, Maureen said, “I am very fortunate to work for such an amazing company that understands the comfort and love an animal gives its owner. I enjoy working at Replacements thoroughly – it amazed me from the start how many different people and departments it takes to make things go round, and I am honored to be able to give my all towards the progress of the company and the satisfaction of our customers.”
