Our featured pet this month is “Lili,” a beautiful ten-year-old Cocker Spaniel who lives with Miki Sato, an internet marketing analyst in the online marketing department at Replacements, Ltd. Lili came into Miki’s life in February 2003, when she went to a local pet store to get birdseeds for her parakeets. “I had no idea that I would be going home with a puppy, but that’s what happened!” Miki said. “As I walked in the store, I saw a little Cocker Spaniel puppy looking at me. I immediately fell in love with her, and she came home with me. I already had one Cocker Spaniel, ‘Jake,’ but because Jake was a very social and sweet boy, he was happy to have a new friend.”
According to Miki, Lili is very energetic and loves (destroying) dog toys. “As soon as I give her a new toy, she likes to demolish it. Lili can remove a plastic squeaker from a toy within a few minutes, then it’s no time before she takes the legs and arms off – she now has many armless and legless toys that she loves to carry around the house!” Although Lili used to be even more energetic than she is now, Miki says she has started slowing down a bit with age. “When I bring her to work with me, she usually just sleeps on her doggie bed under my desk,” Miki said.
“I think the Replacements, Ltd. pet-friendly policy helps to create a great work environment,” Miki said. “It makes me happy to look at my coworkers’ pets at work. For me personally, this policy helped me tremendously when Jake died last December. Lili was so sad after his passing that I just couldn’t leave her alone at home all day while I was at work. I think bringing her here has helped her to heal faster. She now loves coming to work with me, and I’m grateful for the pet-friendly policy.”
When asked how she feels about working at Replacements in general, Miki said, “Replacements, Ltd. is a great place to work. I appreciate that the company treats all employees and customers with respect.”
