This month we feature a very special Replacements team member and her pet cat named “Scooter.” Scooter belongs to Thelma Byrd, who is a member of our order processing department. Thelma joined Replacements, Ltd. in 1994.

Scooter was born a year before Thelma came to Replacements. One day, as Thelma was pulling into her driveway, she noticed a litter of kittens had been abandoned at the curb. When she looked close she saw the cat that was to become Scooter and his five brothers and sisters. Thelma arranged new homes for each of Scooter’s brothers and sisters. Because of Scooter’s delightful spirit, Thelma adopted him and made him part of her family. It did not take long for Scooter to become acclimated to his new home. Thelma quickly learned that he had a taste for the finer things in life, including chicken, biscuits, and fried fish.

Thelma admits that Scooter is extremely spoiled. Scooter has three playmates at home, Salem, Piglett, and Ping. Scooter is the oldest and enjoys being the “big brother” of the group. Thelma loves Replacements’ pet friendly policy and never misses a chance to bring Scooter with her to Replacements, whether a regular workday or a special occasion.
