Marti Haydon is a purchasing agent who started at Replacements in June 1994. Marti's pet family member is Sebastian, a beautiful cat born May 1, 1987 and now 16 years old. Marti obtained Sebastian through friends who owned Sebastian’s mom and dad. She went to visit her friends to see the new litter of kittens and noticed one that was the runt of the litter. Despite this, Marti took an immediate liking to the kitten that would be named "Sebastian." She confided to us, “He was the runt of the litter but was by far the cutest.”

As Sebastian has grown, he has become more and more a social cat. Marti advised that Sebastian enjoys socializing with people now as well as other cats. Although Sebastian is very social, dogs and the vet tend to be at the bottom of his list of people with which to hang out. Sebastian proved that his outgoing social tendencies are paying off during the last general election, when he received 22 write in votes for office. Marti joked with me saying, “He ran on the platform ‘more food more often!’”

It goes without saying that Marti genuinely loves Sebastian and when he is not catnapping or socializing, he likes to act as Marti’s computer assistant, and ride in Marti’s car. Marti and Sebastian are both appreciative of Replacements’ pet-friendly policy. Marti advised, “Replacements’ pet-friendly policy is so important to those of us who consider our pets family.”
