Coalport

The history of Coalport begins in 1750, when Squire Edward Brown began producing dinnerware using clay and coal found on his English estate. In 1772, the firm was joined by Thomas Turner, a premier engraver who was among the first to use transfer printing to decorate china. Turner is also credited with being the first to adapt the famed “Blue Willow” pattern for English pottery. In the years since, Coalport's iconic patterns have included Ming Rose, Countryware, Indian Tree, Athlone, and more. Shop all our Coalport collections below.
