Replacements, Ltd. receives perfect score on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index
One of only 12 companies nationwide to earn 100 percent ranking five years running
GREENSBORO, N.C., September 22, 2006 – For the fifth consecutive year, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has given Replacements, Ltd a perfect score on its Corporate Equality Index, which rates how major American companies treat gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. When the HRC started its index in 2002, only 13 companies received the top rating. This year, 138 companies scored 100 percent.
“We’re really pleased to see how many successful companies have embraced this vision of corporate equality,” said Replacements, Ltd. founder and owner Bob Page, whose company instituted GLBT friendly policies nearly a decade ago.
“We’d like to think we made a difference very early on by adopting groundbreaking initiatives and leading by example when other companies weren’t quite sure which direction to take,” Page added. “Being inclusive and creating an open, honest and safe environment for everyone will always be top priorities, because that’s the right thing to do.”
Replacements, Ltd. was one of the first companies in North Carolina to offer domestic partner health benefits, and works with vendors willing to pledge they do not discriminate based on sexual orientation.
