Replacements Again Recognized as Corporate Leader in the Ongoing Push for Workplace Equality

Only North Carolina-based company to receive perfect score 16 consecutive years

GREENSBORO, N.C., November 9, 2017 – The Human Rights Campaign Foundation this morning named Replacements, Ltd. as one of the top U.S. firms leading the charge for workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Americans. Replacements is one of only eight U.S. companies to achieve a perfect score on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) all 16 years the civil rights organization has monitored American corporations.

The report evaluates policies and practices including workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Businesses like Replacements achieving a 100 percent ranking are designated as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

"Danica Roem's victory this week in Virginia is a great win for the LGBTQ community," says Replacements Founder and CEO Bob Page. "While her election is a huge step forward, unfortunately it's become very clear that corporate leadership must set the example in protecting LGBTQ employees, especially the transgender community. Recent proposed actions seem to specifically target transgender Americans, and that absolutely needs to stop; no person, for any reason, should be made to feel singled out or picked on. That's why we must loudly continue to let Washington know it's past time for Congress to pass comprehensive workplace non-discrimination legislation to protect all people."

Out of 1,084 businesses rated by this year's CEI, Replacements is among a history making 609 to earn top marks. Other companies achieving a perfect score all 16 years include Apple, Nike, American Airlines and Xerox.
