Looking for just the right centerpiece or accessory for your table? How about a special gift for loved one? Steuben provides an exceptional selection of crystal accessories and gifts.
Steuben is one of America’s most renowned producers of collectible crystal. Founded in Corning, NY, in 1903 by English glass designer Fredrick Carder and American entrepreneur Thomas Hawkes, the company produced vases, jars, figurines, bowls, candlesticks, and decanters in a wide variety of colors and designs. After World War I, the company was merged into Corning Glass Works as the “Steuben Division,” focusing upon the production of clear crystal. During the Art Deco movement, Steuben released many modern designs, and the company’s work was broadly recognized as a hallmark of quality. In 1954, U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower was given an engraved Steuben bowl as a gift from his cabinet. The city of Atlanta honored the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an engraved Steuben bowl in 1965. President Lyndon Johnson and first lady “Lady Bird” Johnson presented a Steuben bowl to Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands on the occasion of her royal wedding in 1966.
