“Nuthatch” Figurine from Annual Garden Birds by Lenox China
While we were looking through our collectibles, we found another excellent special value in the Lenox Annual Garden Birds collection, specifically the 2006 “Nuthatch” figurine. This beautiful porcelain figurine is done in the vivid and lifelike form of a white-breasted nuthatch. The name “nuthatch” is derived from this bird’s habit of wedging nuts in the loose bark of trees, and then hammering open the shells with its powerful beak. The nuthatch is a woodland bird that is found in North America, with some varieties having evolved to live in rocky habitats. This beautiful bird is known for its ability to climb down trees head first (something that even the woodpecker cannot do!). Nuthatches make their homes in small holes in trees or other crevices, and often use mud to make the entrance to their homes smaller. In this particular figurine, the nuthatch is shown above a patch of purple and white flowers, greenery, and strawberries. A porcelain bow attached to the bark of the tree reads “2006.” This is a beautifully done wildlife figurine that will appeal to serious bird watchers as well as those of us who find joy in keeping a well-stocked bird feeder near our home. The “Nuthatch” figurine from Lenox also makes a wonderful accent piece for the home or office. Start at the link below to order this delightful figurine at an excellent, limited-time price.
