The cylindrical vessel is adorned with the distinctive Shirochibu technique, featuring hundreds of meticulously hand-applied white enamel dots that create remarkable texture and dimension against a soft celadon-green ground. Stylized tessen (clematis) floral and scrolling vine motifs, accented in warm ochre and framed by geometric borders in deep iron red and gilt, reflect the refined decorative style associated with Kutani ware. Raised on three small feet and topped with a fitted pierced lid and finial, the burner is designed to gently release the fragrance of incense while serving as an elegant decorative object.
